OAKLAND — A man robbed a Piedmont Avenue district bank Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The robbery happened about 2:38 p.m. Monday at the Wells Fargo Bank, 151 40th St.

According to initial police reports, a man approached a teller, simulated that he had a gun tucked inside his jacket and handed over a hand written note to the teller that demanded cash.

The robber was given an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen walking southbound on Piedmont Avenue.

According to the reports, the robber was described as white, about 6 feet 2 and 220 pounds with long brownish hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans.
