CALIFORNIA (FOX26) — Public opinion research and strategic consulting firm, Evitarus, released its latest polling results for the California gubernatorial race on Monday.
The current top five are Steve Hilton (R) with 16%, Chad Bianco (R) with 14%, Xavier Becerra (D) and Tim Steyer (D) each with 13%, and Katty Porter (D) with 10%.
The poll came out shortly after Democrat Betty Yee announced she had dropped out of the race. She was not included in the poll because she was polling in single digits.
She did not endorse anyone.
Yee is a former California State Controller who served from 2015 to 2023.
Former Congressman Eric Swalwell was leading the list of Democratic candidates before he dropped out of the race amid multiple reports of sexual abuse.
Other Democrat candidates, Matt Mahan, Antonio Villaraigosa, and Tony Thurmond, are also trailing.
Both Yee and Swalwell will be on the primary ballot since they have already been printed.
The primary election is on June 2nd, and the final day to register to vote is May 18th.

The two candidates with the most votes will face off in the November general election, which means Republicans Hilton and Bianco could be the only candidates in a state that has been controlled by a Democratic supermajority for some time.
