The Sacramento Philharmonic brings “Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy” to life this Halloween weekend with live music and HD scenes.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Fans of anime, gaming and live music are in for a treat this Halloween weekend as the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera brings a first-of-its-kind concert experience to the city.

“Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy” will bring the world-famous video game series to life with stunning HD scenes projected on the big screen while the Philharmonic performs the game’s iconic soundtrack live.

“Final Fantasy, of course, is one of the most well-known and famous video game series of all time and the music is just epic,” said Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera CEO Giuliano Kornberg.

The concert celebrates music from the 14th and 16th editions of the beloved video game franchise. Shows are scheduled for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center in downtown Sacramento.

Kornberg said the timing of the event makes it a perfect option for Halloween plans. “It’s at 8 o’clock, right? So people can definitely go trick or treating at 5 or 6, have dinner. It’s like a couple hour concert, I would say. So it should be done by 10:15 or 10:30 or so, so people can definitely go out afterwards if they want to go to like a Halloween party or do some more Halloween fun,” he said.

The concert will feature original game vocalist Amanda Achen and music from renowned Final Fantasy composers Masayoshi Soken, Nobuo Uematsu, Masashi Hamauzu and Yoko Shimomura. The orchestra will perform under the direction of legendary conductor Arnie Roth.

“The vocalist Amanda Achen is the original vocalist for the games, so the fact that there’s such an amazing conductor and singer combination for this concert coming to Sacramento is really special,” Kornberg said.

This multimedia event includes HD video created by Square Enix specifically for the tour.
