The 100-Foot Christmas Tree Arrives Near Dawn Signaling the Approach of the Holidays

The holiday season made its grand return to Los Angeles early Tuesday morning as The Grove’s iconic 100-foot Christmas tree arrived at the popular shopping and dining destination.

The massive white fir, carefully chosen from California’s Mt. Shasta region, marks the start of one of the city’s most beloved seasonal traditions. The 80-year-old tree completed its annual journey from The Original Farmers Market, traveling along First Street before being lifted into place at The Park by crane — a spectacle that has captivated crowds for more than 20 years.

Each year, Angelenos and visitors gather to witness the moment the towering fir takes its place at the heart of The Grove. The tree will soon be decorated with more than 15,000 sparkling lights and 10,000 ornaments, transforming the property into a dazzling winter wonderland. The annual display has become a signature of Southern California’s holiday season, drawing thousands to celebrate the spirit of community and joy.

Following the holidays, the tree is sustainably recycled into mulch and firewood, while 10 new white firs are planted in its place in Mt. Shasta — a nod to the ongoing commitment to renewal and environmental stewardship.

Additional details about Caruso’s holiday lineup — including The Grove’s Tree Lighting Celebration, visits with Santa, nightly snowfalls, and other family-friendly festivities — will be announced in the coming weeks.
