Details remain sparse after two people were found dead in Southwest Berkeley over the weekend.
Police and firefighters first went to the southern end of Aquatic Park shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday after a caller reported a possible dead person in a car, police said.
A man and a woman were found dead in the car. Their bodies were at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Officer’s Coroner’s Bureau as of Wednesday. They had identified the woman, but withheld her name until they could notify her next of kin. They had not yet identified the man.
The pair’s causes of death were pending investigation, according to the coroner’s office.
Police did not immediately respond to follow-up inquiries seeking details that might offer clues to the pair’s deaths.
