The PFL is headed to San Diego for the first time in promotion history.
PFL San Diego will take place June 27 at Pechanga Arena and be headlined by a featherweight bout between A.J. McKee and Salamat Isbulaev, the promotion announced Thursday. No other fights have yet been revealed for the card.
The PFL featherweight division does not currently have a champion. PFL CEO John Martin said in a video Thursday the bout between McKee (24-2) and Isbulaev (10-0) will have title implications.
California’s McKee competes in his home state once again. He enters the bout on a two-fight winning streak, comprised of unanimous decision victories over Akhmed Magomedov and Adam Borics.
Kazakhstan’s Isbulaev made his promotional debut in February when he promptly smashed perennial top contender Jesus Pinedo for a first-round TKO stoppage. Isbulaev has a 100 percent finishing rate with six knockouts and four submissions.
