A pedestrian died Friday after they were struck by a driver in San Jose, according to police.
The collision happened at about 9:17 a.m. along the 1400 block of Mabury Road, police said.
Medical personnel provided aid at the scene, but the pedestrian did not survive.
Police said Mabury Road would be closed from Taylor Street to Berryessa Station Way for several hours to allow authorities to investigate.
The public was instructed to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

This marks the second pedestrian death in San Jose this week. A 1-year-old boy died Tuesday after he was hit by a driver in the parking area of an apartment complex along the 2100 block of Canoas Garden Avenue, according to police.
Two more pedestrians were taken to the hospital Thursday evening after they were hit along the 2300 block of Carlton Avenue, but they are expected to survive.
