(KRON) — A pedestrian was struck and killed on Mabury Road in San Jose Friday morning. According to the San Jose Police Department, units are responding to the 1400 block of Mabury to investigate the crash.

Medical personnel are on scene and attempted to provide life saving measures but the pedestrian succumbed to their injuries and was pronounced dead. There will be road closures in place for several hours as officers investigate.

Mabury will be closed from Taylor Street to Berryessa Station Way. Drivers are being advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
The time of the crash was 9:17 a.m., police said.
