A 56-year-old man was charged with murder in connection with a shooting in broad daylight in West Oakland last week, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office said.
Tyrone Gobar also faces charges of being a felon in possession of ammunition and a gun, plus a sentencing enhancement, prosecutors said.
The shooting occurred around 11 a.m. Thursday in the area of Wood and 18th streets near Raimondi Park. Officers and paramedics unsuccessfully tried to save the victim, police said.
Further details, including the victim’s name, age and gender, were not released.
Gobar’s initial court hearing was scheduled for Monday.
