San Francisco Police officers arrested a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of stabbing a person she knew on Tuesday night, officials said Wednesday.

Just before 10 p.m, officers responded to a home on the 1500 block Sunnydale Avenue after receiving a report of a stabbing. There, officers located an adult male victim suffering from an apparent stab wound. Officers also located the suspect, Lani Mati of San Francisco, who was allegedly armed with a knife, they said.

“Officers gave commands to the suspect which the suspect failed to comply (with),” officials said.

Mati was eventually arrested and booked into San Francisco County Jail under suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, three counts of battery on a peace officer and resisting and delaying arrest, officials said.

Police said that through their preliminary investigation, they determined the victim — who was not identified — knew Mati and that the stabbing happend “following an altercation.”

According to jail records, Mati was booked into jail just before 3 a.m. Wednesday.
