The Millikan baseball team knows it has to keep winning to secure an outright Moore League title.

Senior pitcher Daunte Bell threw a complete game to lead the Rams to a 3-1 victory against Long Beach Poly at Cabrillo High on Wednesday.

Bell allowed only two hits, one unearned run and struck out eight.

The win kept the Rams in sole possession of first place in league.

Millikan improved to 18-6 overall and 9-1 in the Moore League. Poly dropped to 15-10 and 6-4.

Millikan senior Adrian Ramirez had two RBIs.

Poly scored one run in the bottom of the seventh. The Jackrabbits are fourth in the league standings.

Millikan will host Cabrillo on Friday. The Rams conclude league play at Lakewood on Tuesday, May 5.

MOORE LEAGUE BASEBALL 

Wilson 5, Lakewood 4: The Bruins scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to pull out a come-from-behind victory. The win kept Wilson in second place in the Moore League. Lakewood led 4-1 heading into the fourth inning. The Lancers are in third place. Senior pitcher Agi Chandler picked up the win.

Jordan 11, Compton 6: The Panthers scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away for the victory. Sophomore Julian Lopez had four RBIs. Sophomore Talin Velazquez had three RBIs.

NONLEAGUE

St. Anthony 5, Mayfair 0: The Saints scored five runs in the first inning. Junior pitcher Luke Frazier threw a complete game. He allowed only six hits.

Los Alamitos 6, Cerritos 3: The Griffins led 6-0 in the third inning. Senior Kaden Turner and Gerardo Garfiaz each drove in two runs early in the contest.

SOFTBALL

Long Beach Poly 16, Gahr 9: The Jackrabbits scored seven runs in the third inning to go up 13-4. Gladiators senior Maryah McElroy had four RBIs.
