Re “Culture is part of S.D.’s appeal and deserves public help” (April 27): Perhaps if the city’s leaders hadn’t mortgaged our financial circumstances to pension plans and bloated bureaucracy, we would have resources to fund the arts. The arts define what makes us human. In future elections, I suggest that we remember who got us here.
