BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — CHP Mojave Area officers issued over 150 citations and made 5 arrests during the statewide 24-hour Maximum Enforcement Period.

The enforcement period was to focus on speeding.

Speed, distraction, and impaired driving continue to be leading causes of traffic crashes.

CHP reminds drivers to slow down, put the phone away, never drive under the influence, and to give yourself time to get where you’re going safely.
