BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County households will see a change in their annual sewer service charges starting July 1, 2026, after the Kern County Board of Supervisors approved a 3.2% increase on Tuesday.
The board’s action sets the charge at $368.37 per household per year, increasing from $356.95 last year, according to the information presented. The increase amounts to $11.42 for a single-family household per year.
The Kern Sanitation Authority recommended the increase for 2026-2027, citing environmental considerations, and determined the action is exempt from future environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act.
