LONG BEACH, Calif. (CNN) – The death of a woman who fell from a cruise ship balcony is being investigated by the FBI and California authorities.
Investigators say the fall occurred Monday when the Carnival Firenze was traveling from Long Beach to Ensenada, Mexico.
The unidentified woman reportedly landed on a deck below her room.
A fellow passenger said her heart goes out to the woman’s loved ones.
“We’re sending our condolences to the family. Everybody on the ship was sad … we led a prayer,” passenger Kelly Duhs said.
According to Carnival, its care team was assisting the woman’s family members who were also on the cruise.
