A 29-year-old man lying along a downtown curb died after he was run over by a bus Thursday night, San Diego police said.
The incident happened about 9:50 p.m. on West B Street between State and Union streets across from the north side of the San Diego Central Courthouse.
San Diego police said the man had been lying on the ground along the curb on the north side of B Street when a Metropolitan Transit Service bus pulled up.
Police said the man, for reasons unknown, rolled his legs into the roadway and was lying partly on the curb line and partly on the street. His legs were in front of the rear tire of the bus.
When the bus pulled away from the curb, it ran over the man’s legs. He died at the scene. His name was not released pending notification of family.
Traffic officers are investigating.
