Concerts in the Park returns for 33rd year in Sacramento
The annual free summer concert series enters its 33rd year and will run for nine weeks every Friday until June 26.

Sacramento’s longest-running free music series returns tonight.Concerts in the Park kicks off with alternative rock band Edgehill as the headliner. Other acts performing on opening night include Rainbow City Park, Ashley Jaguar and DJ Keith. The summer concert series enters its 33rd year and will run for nine weeks every Friday until June 26. Each week will feature a different genre of music such as electronic, dance, Latin, and hip hop. Click here to view the full lineup. Gates open at 6 p.m. with the last band expected to finish at 9:30 p.m. Gate entrances are at 9th and J and 10th and I streets at the downtown park plaza. The downtown plaza is still named after late labor and civil rights activist Cesar Chavez, but there are efforts within the city to change the park’s name. Tickets are not required. Admission is free and open to the public. After performances are done, people 21 and over can stick around for “Concerts in the Park After Dark,” which includes themed drinks at select bars and restaurants.
