The 2026-27 season will begin at the Acrisure Arena this November
The Los Angeles Lakers announced the relocation of their NBA G League team to the Greater Palm Springs region for the 2026-27 G League season, calling the infamous Acrisure Arena their new home in the heart of the Coachella Valley.
Founded in 2006, the newly named Coachella Valley Lakers have been an official NBA G League affiliate of the Lakers for the past two decades.
“I am beyond thrilled to have the Coachella Valley Lakers call OVG’s Acrisure Arena their home. Go Lakers,” said Oak View Group Senior Partner Irving Azoff.
Season ticket deposits are officially open to the public and available online. Ticket prices start at $100 per account that is set up and used to access the seating chart. The initial deposit is fully refundable at the time of seat selection for the season.
“Moving the Lakers G League team to the Coachella Valley is an incredible opportunity for the organization,” said Los Angeles Lakers President of Business Operations Lon Rosen. “The Lakers have had a strong presence in the region for decades, from the Showtime Lakers holding training camp in the 1980s to more recent preseason games. We are looking forward to extending that experience and becoming a staple for Coachella Valley sports and entertainment. Acrisure Arena is the perfect modern venue that provides an incredible fan-first experience, while ensuring players have the premium facilities and space they need on game day.”
About the NBA G League Team
Originally named the Los Angeles D-Fenders in 2006, the team started out playing at the STAPLES Center in Downtown Los Angeles until they moved on to the Toyota Sports Center, located in El Segundo.
They rebranded the team in 2017 as the South Bay Lakers, where they began playing at the UCLA Health Training Center, also located in El Segundo.
This franchise has a record of 60 NBA call-ups across 38-players. During the 2025-26 season, the team had a 26-10 regular season record, which helped them secure the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

The Lakers’ G League team has nurtured and helped develop the future generation of professional basketball players. This includes current Lakers star guard Austin Reaves.
This made the Lakers the first NBA team to own and operate their affiliate team in the developmental league.
