BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man on probation was arrested after he was allegedly found with a gun and ammunition during a home call in south Bakersfield.

The Kern County Probation Department said on Thursday, April 28, 2026, officers assigned to the Kern County Probation Department’s Adult AB-109 Division, Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) Unit conducted a home call in the 1400 block of Antonia Way in Bakersfield.

Officers contacted Jonathan Vinson, who is on active Post Release Community Supervision.

During the search, officers allegedly found a loaded privately manufactured Polymer 80, 9 mm semi-automatic pistol, an extended 31-round high-capacity magazine as well as ammunition, according to the probation department.

Vinson was arrested for felon in possession of a gun and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person as well as a violation of PRCS.
