(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento’s free summer concert series kicks off Friday night, May 1, with alternative indie rock band Edgehill at the Downtown Plaza Park.
Other bands performing tonight include Rainbow City Park, Ashley Jaguar, and DJ Keith.
The 33rd annual Concerts in the Park series is organized by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership and is the longest-running free concert series in the area, bringing live music to downtown Friday evenings from May 1 to June 26.
Each week will feature a different genre of music, including Latin, indie and hip hop, to name a few.
The event runs weekly from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The concerts are free and there is a variety of beverages available for sale at the park, but you’ll need to purchase tokens for those.
After the concerts, people 21 and older can hang around for “Concerts in the Park After Dark,” which features drink and food specials from participating area restaurants and bars.
