OAKLAND — A seven-month investigation stemming from a massive sideshow in Oakland ended Friday in the arrest of two people suspected of promoting the event, police said.
The sideshow started Sept. 25, 2025, in the area of Market Street and West Grand Avenue and then moved to the 2200 block of Middle Harbor Road, the Oakland Police Department said in a news release. The event later spread into neighboring cities.
Police called the sideshow “highly disruptive.”
On Friday, officers served a search warrant in East Oakland and took one person into custody on felony warrants connected to the “promotion and facilitation” of the event, police said, adding that two handguns and fake license plates were also recovered.
A second person was later found and arrested.
“OPD will continue to take decisive action to disrupt sideshows and hold accountable those who put the community at risk by organizing and participating in such activities,” police said.
