BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man was arrested after a probation search led officers to allegedly find guns and suspected drugs.
The Kern County Probation Department said on Thursday, April 28, 2026, officers assigned to the Kern County Probation Department’s Adult AB-109 Division, Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and Mandatory Supervision (MS) Units conducted a home call in the 500 block of El Tejon Avenue in Bakersfield.
Officers contacted Daniel Quilling, who is on Post Release Community Supervision and had an active felony warrant.
According to the department, a search of Quilling led to the discovery of a .22 caliber handgun and Billy club on his person.
A further search led to an additional .380 caliber gun in his backpack and a syringe loaded with suspected heroin, according to the department.
As a result, Quilling was arrested for the felony warrant, a violation of PRCS as well as felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of Billy club, possession of a narcotic and controlled substance paraphernalia.
