Firefighters are fighting a brush fire this evening that has broken out in a 50-foot-by-50-foot patch of light fuels on the southbound 110 Freeway at Stadium Way in Elysian Park.
A witness reported seeing people start that fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. It is expected to result in a freeway closure, says the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Jennifer Middleton.

A water-dropping helicopter was on the way. It’s unclear if this fire is related to a nearby one on a transition road between the 110 and 101 freeways.
