An investigation is underway after a shooting reportedly happened outside of singer Chris Brown’s home in Tarzana on Friday evening, police said.
The incident was reported just after 4 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Investigators say a woman drove onto the street, allegedly to meet someone, and got into an altercation with a security guard, who then fired a CO2-style handgun at the woman’s car, damaging it. Other details about what led up to the dispute were not immediately known.
Officers arrested the guard, identified as 35-year-old Markeith Cungious, who faces an assault with a deadly weapon charge, the LAPD said. Bail has been set at $50,000. It’s unclear if Cungious has an attorney who can speak on his behalf.
No one was injured, police said.
In an Instagram story on Saturday, Brown said, in part, that he is unaware of any shooting at his home and that he had been inside his home and did not hear any gunshots or see any police. It’s unclear if Brown was referring to this incident in his post.
