BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — You can help support local organizations that are working to support those in need during this year’s Give Big Kern day of giving.
Upside Academy Inc. is a local non-profit that helps students volunteer in the community.
Students age 12 to 18 are able to volunteer at homeless shelters, senior centers, animal shelters or other community organizations.
They can also participate in neighborhood clean-ups or other education projects.
Upside Academy Inc. Advisor Katie E. Johnson joined ARC Bakersfield to share how the organization helps the community.
