Kern Secret Witness offers $5K reward for information in 2019 Wasco homicide case

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The Kern Secret Witness is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect involved in a 2019 Wasco homicide that left a 55-year-old man dead.

The victim was identified as Jose Ascencion Garcia, 55. Garcia was shot and killed in the south alley in the 800 block of Highway 46 on Oct. 28, 2019, according to officials.

The shooting was reported at about 1:50 a.m. When deputies arrived at the scene, Garcia was found suffering gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
