Fire in east Bakersfield burns over 2K acres
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Firefighters are trying to contain a fire that broke out Sunday in east Bakersfield.
According to the Kern County Fire Department, the fire began just after 3 p.m. on Towerline Road near Edison Highway.
The fire has burned 2,500 acres and is 50% contained, according to CalFire.
No structures have been lost and an evacuation warning was sent out to neighboring areas.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
