Now that “billionaire” has become a four-letter word, we should consider the other side. (Up front, I am far from being a billionaire.)
Think how many people are employed by their companies, such as Amazon. Think of how much they donate to charities, such as Ernest Rady giving hundreds of millions of dollars in San Diego to Scripps Health and the Children’s Hospital that now bears his name. I have yet to see a politician running for office turn down a donation from a billionaire!
It seems that politicians want to tax them more so they will have more money to waste. In California, 10% of taxpayers pay 75% of state income taxes. What does the term “fair share” mean? If you think California has problems now, wait until the billionaires leave the state.
