A driver was killed Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on a highway in El Cajon.
The fatal collision happened around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday on westbound Interstate 8 near state Route 67, according to the California Highway Patrol. The vehicle overturned several times in the car.
At least two lanes were closed while crews worked to extricate the unidentified driver from the overturned vehicle, a spokesperson with Heartland Fire & Rescue reported. No other injuries were reported.
The roadways were slick after overnight rain, although it was not yet clear if rain was a factor in the crash.
