LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) — Developers presented plans for a mixed-use project at the Long Beach Harbor that would tie in the city’s gateway project with retail spacing.
Bellamare Development presented its idea for a project called the West Wall at the Gateway at Long Beach City Hall. The project would include opportunities for retail, food trucks, a playground and self-cleaning restrooms. Developers said the project’s features would give beach-goers the ability to stay longer than just a couple of hours.
“I think all the board members are very excited, and the thing about it is the architect actually did the Gateway project, and he had always had this in mind while he was doing that,” Mayor Tim Pierce said. “Now, it’s just come to an official project.”
Following the presentation, the Board of Aldermen voted to enter into negotiations with Bellamare to lease the land.
