CHICAGO — A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the driver who fatally struck a Chicago Cubs fan in Los Angeles during the Dodger-Cubs series last week.
According to authorities, Jose Melesio, 65, was killed while crossing the street in an early morning hit-and-run on April 27.

Surveillance video captured the moment the 65-year-old man was struck by a small sedan that may be white, silver or light gray in color. Detectives said the vehicle likely sustained significant front-end damage.
“It launched him airborne. Unfortunately he had a secondary collision with the roadway because of that,” Detective Ryan Moreno said during a news conference.
Melesio, known as “Joey” to family and friends, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members says he lived in Schiller Park and had traveled to Los Angeles to cheer on the Cubs at Dodger Stadium. Melesio was in the maintenance industry, primarily servicing hotels, and was a caregiver for his 97-year-old mother.
“If you’re out there, you know who you are, come forth. Help us close this chapter. Joey deserves that. Please, just come forth,” said Oscar Flores, Melesio’s cousin.
LAPD says the area the man was killed is known for street racing and speeding.
