Two men charged with stealing about $667,000 of Louis Vuitton merchandise from the back of delivery trucks — robbing the drivers at gunpoint — pleaded not guilty in San Diego Superior Court on Wednesday, prosecutors said.
The two are part of a group of five defendants accused of committing five robberies between July 2024 and June 2025. They are charged with multiple crimes, from robbery and receiving stolen property to carjacking and attempted carjacking, officials from the District Attorney’s Office said.
Three more defendants are awaiting extradition to San Diego.
“This crew violently targeted lucrative luxury merchandise transported by FedEx,” said District Attorney Summer Stephan in a news release. “Their crime spree is over, and these defendants will begin facing justice and accountability for their bad acts.”
Prosecutors said that the group targeted trucks carrying Louis Vuitton merchandise, including sunglasses, handbags, shoes and belts.
In one instance at the Fashion Valley mall, the crew allegedly stole 25 boxes of designer goods, prosecutors said. In three other incidents, the defendants allegedly intercepted a delivery truck, pulled a firearm on the driver while he was getting gas and drove the truck away. The defendants then allegedly drove the truck to a pre-arranged drop-off area, loaded the merchandise into getaway vehicles and then drove away.
In at least one instance, the driver was able to fight off a gunman and force the would-be robbers to abandon their plan, prosecutors said.
None of the merchandise from any of the robberies has been recovered.
