Chef Michael Mina and the Mina Group will no longer manage Tiburon’s popular waterfront restaurant, the Bungalow Kitchen, starting Monday, June 1, a publicist for the team confirms. Instead, the Bungalow Kitchen will undergo a transition to management by the Arizona-based restaurant group, Clive Collective.

In a statement, the Mina Group wrote, in part, “The Mina Group has made the decision to no longer manage The Bungalow Kitchen in Tiburon as of June 1st. Chef Michael Mina and The Mina Group are incredibly proud of what the team built there over the past four years and are grateful to the community who has supported the restaurant.” The statement goes on to say the two restaurant groups are “working together on this transition.”

Despite the changes, a representative from Clive Collective confirms that the restaurant will remain open without interruption and will continue under the Bungalow Kitchen name. Diners can expect no interruption of service, and employees, both front and back of the house, will be offered an opportunity to remain with the restaurant. Details on “programming and menu enhancements” will be released in the weeks to come.

This is the first step outside of Arizona for Clive Collective, whose restaurants include Cala Scottsdale and the Americano, and Tell Your Friends, all based in Scottsdale, and Neon Spur in Tempe; other restaurants are planned for Scottsdale and Phoenix in the coming year. Clive co-founder Justin Massei spurred the expansion; Massei was born in the Bay Area and resides in San Francisco. In a statement, Massei praised the waterfront restaurant and said, “We are not coming in to reinvent the place. Our priority is to listen, protect what makes it special, and thoughtfully add the energy and craft that define our group.”

A representative from Clive Collection confirms the Bungalow Kitchen in Tiburon is no longer associated with the other Bungalow locations.
