4.5-magnitude earthquake among several quakes that shook Southern California

Several earthquakes shook Southern California on Saturday evening, the largest being a magnitude 4.5 quake, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.The quakes were centered near Brawley in Imperial County, north of the southern border with Mexico. A 3.5-magnitude quake hit around 4:15 p.m. It was followed by six more small quakes until a 4.4. quake hit around 7:22 p.m. The 4.5-magnitude quake struck at 8:39 p.m., about 20 minutes after a 4.0 quake in the area.
