One of the four Californians potentially exposed to the Andes hantavirus is from Sacramento County.
The resident is one of two people, the other being in Santa Clara County, being monitored by their local health departments after possible exposure linked to an outbreak on a small cruise ship.
California health officials said four state residents may have been exposed, three on the ship and one, the Sacramento County resident, who was on a flight very briefly with an infected passenger. Officials said none of them have symptoms right now, and the risk to the public remains extremely low.
Two people are isolating at home, while two others are being evaluated at a federal facility in Nebraska.
