(FOX40.COM) — The Sacramento Police Department arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing that left a woman hospitalized in critical condition.

SPD said officers responded to reports of a stabbing around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of West El Camino Drive and Gateway Oaks Avenue near South Natomas.

Police found a woman with at least one stab wound. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition and officers began a search for the suspect.

According to SPD, officers found the suspect, identified as 32-year-old Patricia Dyer of Sacramento, Tuesday night.

She was detained and interviewed before being booked on assault with a deadly weapon charges.
