BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — After spending months representing himself, Daniel Graham said he needs help.

Graham, who’s accused of killing a woman at an Oildale mobile home park, requested an attorney on Wednesday and a hearing was set for next week to confirm he’s been assigned one through the county’s Indigent Defense Program, the alternative to the Public Defender’s Office.

Graham and co-defendant Misha Allen are due back in court Monday. Their trial, scheduled that day, will likely be postponed for months.

In a jailhouse interview, Graham admitted to killing 62-year-old Roxana Jo Kelly, saying she owed him money.

Kelly’s body was found in the remains of a mobile home that burned Aug. 8 at Superior Mobile Home Park on State Road.

Arrested days later, Graham, 41, and Allen, 43, remain in custody without bail.
