Authorities are looking for the person who shot and killed a 42-year-old woman Thursday night on a Tustin street.
The shooting was reported by people who called 911 to report the sound of gunfire at about 6 p.m. near 17th and Yorba streets in the Orange County community. The woman was found behind a white SUV along the east curb north of 17th Street.
She died at the scene.
Witnesses told officers they saw a man in black clothing leave the scene in a dark older model sedan. A detailed description of the attacker and car were not immediately available.
No arrests were reported early Friday afternoon. Police said they do not believe there is a threat to the general public.
Details about a possible motive were not immediately available.
