BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern County Supervisors for District 4 and state assembly candidate David Couch has endorsed Chris Parlier’s re-election campaign to serve the county’s 2nd District.

Couch’s backing is one of the latest endorsements Parlier has received in the race.

In a statement on Thursday, Couch said Kern County needs Parlier “at the helm as we continue
to face challenges and threats from Sacramento.”

“Chris restored leadership to the Kern County Board of Supervisors when he filled a vacant seat.
Since then, he has helped lead the county into a period of major economic growth and new
investment,” Couch said.

In a press release from Parlier’s office, the supervisor wrote that it is “imperative to maintain proven leadership that can fight effectively for regional interests and create a strong foundation for the future.”

Parlier has previously been endorsed by Kern County Sheriff Donny Youngblood and Republican State Senator Shannon Grove.

Parlier is running against Kern County labor leader Sydney O’Connor.
