San Jose recently saw an eight-game unbeaten streak end with a 3-2 road loss against the Seattle Sounders, while FC Dallas suffered a 3-2 home defeat against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Earthquakes forward Preston Judd has scored in five consecutive matches to tie a single-season franchise record, while Dallas striker Petar Musa has scored 11 goals this season.

FC Dallas modified their starting lineup with Canadian international Jonathan Sirois earning his first start in goal over Michael Collodi, alongside returns for Herman Johansson, Santiago Moreno, Patrickson Delgado, and Joaquin Valiente.
