SUNNYVALE, Calif. (WKRC) – A driver crashed into and drove through a grocery store in a failed attempt to park, authorities said.

According to a release from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, an elderly man was attempting to park his car outside of a Safeway grocery store on May 15 when he suddenly drove through the wall of the grocery store and continued driving for roughly 70 feet inside the store.

The car came to a stop in the store’s floral department, leaving a path of debris behind it. Luckily, nobody suffered serious injuries, and the driver and his passenger were not injured. One customer suffered minor injuries, described as a “few cuts and bruises,” and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.

“Please remember to operate motor vehicles responsibly and remain alert at all times,” the release read. “Safe driving protects not only you, but everyone else on the road, or in this case, the floral department of Safeway.”
