OAKLAND CITY, Ind. (WFIE) – Continuing our coverage of the ongoing payroll issue at Oakland City University – more than 100 employees still don’t have their paychecks.
It’s now been ten days since OCU employees didn’t get their paycheck. They’ve since received a series of updates saying the money was about to arrive.
The most recent of these came on Friday, when administrators said the banking issues keeping the money in limbo had been resolved, and they expected the money to hit accounts within a day or two.
Three days later, and still nothing.
This coming Friday is supposed to be the next paycheck.

14 News has learned that some employees have stopped working until they get paid, which the administration says, is understandable.
While all of this is going on, real estate listings show two OCU buildings are for sale. One of them, the Wilder Center, houses the Oakland City Police Department.
OCU officials say they leased the space to them at no charge. The police chief says they’re moving back to city hall where renovations are underway.
The other building houses some of the school’s athletic programs.
All of this comes after the university filed a WARN notice with the state at the beginning of April, warning of the possibility of a mass layoff.
Experts tell us the Department of Labor has a process of recovering unpaid wages through a wage claim.
