A vehicle fire spread to two apartment complexes in San Jose on Thursday, displacing 10 residents, officials said.
Just after 11 p.m., a car fire spread to two other vehicles and a carport between two apartment buildings on the 900 block of Del Mar Avenue and on the 2100 block of Marlboro Court, officials said.
Firefighters got the fire under control at 12:40 a.m. Ten people were displaced and were being assisted by the Red Cross. No injuries were reported.
In one apartment complex, one unit sustained significant damage and two others had moderate damage, officials said. All units were deemed uninhabitable as they sustained some level of fire, smoke, water or forced-entry damage, fire officials said.
In the second apartment building, only one unit was destroyed.
A third complex, adjacent to one of the other buildings, sustained minor external damage, officials said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
