CIF San Diego Section Girls Team Tennis Championships

Where: Barnes Tennis Center

Admission: Free. Parking is also free, but is somewhat limited.

Note: Championship matches feature three singles players and three doubles teams playing round-robin, one-set matches.

Division 1: (2) La Jolla vs. (1) La Jolla Country Day, 6 p.m.

Preview: La Jolla reached the championship match with a 12-6 win over Steele Canyon, then edged Mt. Carmel (9-9, 80-70 in games) in the quarterfinals and Francis Parker (9-9, 79-74 in games) in the semifinals. La Jolla Country Day, the defending Division 1 champion, advanced with 10-8 wins over Helix, Vincent Memorial and Rancho Bernardo.

Division 2: (5) San Marcos vs. (2) Eastlake, 2 p.m.

Preview: San Marcos advanced with wins over Bonita Vista (13-5), Mater Dei Catholic (15-3) in the quarterfinals and No. 9-seeded Poway (13-5) in the semifinals after Poway had beaten No. 1 Mission Bay. Eastlake cruised to the championship with wins over Grossmont (15-3), Olympian (15-3) and Canyon Hills (13-5).

Division 3:  (5) Mira Mesa vs. (3) Christian, 10 a.m. 

Preview: Mira Mesa had relatively easy wins in the first two rounds, beating Calexico (12-3) and Central Union (12-6) before beating No. 9 Fallbrook (11-7), which had knocked out No. 1 El Capitan. Christian beat Brawley (14-4) and West Hills (11-7) in the first two rounds, then edged No. 7 Clairemont (11-7) in the semifinals after Clairemont had upset No. 2 University City.
