Los Angeles’ police chief will join the county’s sheriff and top prosecutor for a news conference Wednesday to talk about recent arrests in a series of residential burglaries.
Details about the arrests were not immediately available. The news conference with Sheriff’ Robert Luna, District Attorney Nathan Hochman and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Ventura County Sheriff Jim Fryhoff also will speak at the news conference.
Dozens of burglaries and robberies have been reported in recent months in the San Fernando Valley and other locations. Businesses on and around fashionable Melrose Avenue area also have been targeted.
Several arrests have been made and in some cases suspects have been linked to international theft rings.
