APPLE VALLEY, Calif. (VVNG.com) — A 32-year-old Long Beach man was arrested Wednesday evening following reports of shots heard near Sitting Bull Road and Navajo Road in Apple Valley.
Deputies responded to the area at about 6:25 p.m. on May 20, 2026, after receiving reports of gunfire, according to information provided to VVNG by Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station Public Information Officer Taylor Reynolds.
Through the investigation, deputies determined Edgar Aguayo was allegedly discharging a firearm and driving recklessly in the area.
Aguayo was detained without incident and transported to the High Desert Detention Center, where he was booked on suspicion of willfully discharging a firearm with gross negligence and manufacturing, selling, or possessing a large-capacity magazine.
Public records show Aguayo is being held on $30,000 bail and is scheduled to appear at Victorville Superior Court on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. in Department NF.
Under California Penal Code 246.3(a), willfully discharging a firearm with gross negligence can be charged as either a misdemeanor or felony and may carry penalties ranging from up to one year in county jail to three years in custody, along with possible fines and firearm restrictions.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
