Man arrested after allegedly stabbing family member, standoff: Bakersfield PD

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A man was arrested in northeast Bakersfield after allegedly stabbing a family member and barricading himself in a home Thursday morning.

Police said officers were called to a home in the 3200 block of Arnold Street just after 7:30 a.m. for the report of a stabbing. The victim sustained minor to moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The suspect barricaded himself in the residence and was still armed with a knife. A standoff started and multiple callouts were made.

Police said a K-9 was used to detain the suspect at about 9 a.m. The suspect was transported to a local hospital.

The charges he was arrested on include stabbing and resisting arrest.
