BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Lightning in a Bottle music festival is being held in Kern County this weekend and health experts are warning those in attendance to take care of their health while they are enjoying the entertainment.
Dr. Kian Aziman joined Eyewitness News Mornings to share what health risks people should look out for.
Dr. Aziman says with high temperatures, people should be aware of the risk of dehydration.
He says to stay hydrated with water and stay out of the sun during peak heat.
He also says dust in the area can cause issues for those with asthma and wearing a mask can help prevent a flare-up.
Finally, Dr. Aziman warns that mixing alcohol consumption with the heat can cause serious issues.
He says to drink responsibly and stay safe during the festival.
