Sand available for Kern County residents preparing against possible flooding

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Kern County Public Works delivered sand to several locations throughout the county to help residents prepare for heavy rainfall and possible flooding.

Officials said residents will need to supply their own shovels and sandbags. Sandbags can be purchased at hardware stories around Kern County.

Below is a list of sand distribution locations throughout Kern County. The county has provided Google Maps Plus Codes, which can be copied into the Google Maps search bar and give an exact location.

Bakersfield Sandbag Station: Exit from Alfred Harrell Highway onto Goodmanville Access Road. On the east side of Alfred Harrell Highway. Google Maps Plus Code: C3P9 QF9 Bakersfield, California

Frazier Park Sandbag Station: At the intersection of Mt. Pinos Way and West End Drive, head northbound on West End Drive. Google Maps Plus Code: R2FQ F4M Frazier Park, California
