BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — As Bakersfield children get ready for the reopening of city spray parks tomorrow, people in Taft are still waiting for a new splash pad at Ford City Park to open.
A viewer called Eyewitness News to ask why the splash pad has not opened, even though it has appeared complete for several months.
County officials said crews had been waiting for an electrical panel that was on back order. Officials said the panel has now arrived and has already been installed.
During that work, crews discovered two valves that also needed replacement. Officials said that repair work is now underway.
